Smok Pen, Review – Is it WORTHWHILE?
The Smok Pen has made quite an impression since it was initially launched almost 3 years ago. It has since become probably the most sought after writing tools among serious pen users everywhere. When I bought my Smok Pen, I knew immediately that I had purchased the solution to my long-lasting problem with pens. For some time I had been searching for a replacement to the extremely reliable rollerball pen that I have had since college.
Like numerous others, I have trouble getting a good pen that is comfortable to hold for extended periods of time. The Smok Pen fills this niche. It takes up less space in my bag when I make it because it doesn’t sit on a table top like other pens do. I also don’t have to worry about replacing the ink cartridge or the cartridge case like I’ve had to previously. The smok pen 22 has a charger and a USB cord just like any other pen.
One of the best reasons for having the Smok pen may be the incredible quality of its battery. It has a NiCad (or nickel cadmium) battery that is rechargeable. For those of you who have no idea, a NiCad battery is really a lithium battery. They’re very powerful and last for a very long time. Actually, I own two smok pens with a NiCad battery and I take advantage of them everyday.
The design of the Smok Pen carries a very unique and novel coolant system. Once you put the pen in the Smok Pen Stand-On Top Pen, it instantly vents the nib air outwards. The airflow then goes over the complete nib and gets pushed through the converter and into the pen’s reservoir where in fact the ink is stored. This ventilation design provides a very cool and steady blast of air to aid in fountain penning. The airflow is particularly important in the Smok Vaporizer, because this is actually the only pen that allows one to manually control the flow of one’s ink.
In addition to the ventilation design, the pen uses two different kinds of airflow: a counter-clockwise rotation of the heating coils, and counter-clockwise rotation of the cooling coils. The counterclockwise rotation of the heating coils allows the ink to be infused with extra flavour. The cooling coil on the other hand cools the ink, which allows your ink to be produced even smoother. The outcome of the two airflow systems is a superior quality of flavour in your e-liquids.
On underneath of the pen, you’ll discover an adjustable airflow control that allows you to control just how much ink is infused, in addition to a temperature control for precision mixing. I’ve found the opportunity to adjust the airflow and temperature of the pen pretty useful. Not only that, but the capability to adjust the fire button is actually helpful in situations where you might get scared by the fire and desire to try something else.
The Smok pen 22 can be vaporized with the standard pen or with a rebuildable coil. I’ve tried it both with the rebuildable coil sufficient reason for a standard pen. In general, I prefer the rebuildable coil since it makes replacing batteries much easier. The only real time that I’ve had trouble vaporizing the pen was once the batteries were half discharged and would have to be refilled again.
To conclude, I like the Smok pen quite definitely. It’s cheap, simple to operate and gets the job done. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone searching for a pen that Juul Pods produces good vapour. My only real complaint is that it lacks a sub-ohm, which might end up being a deal breaker for some people.
